Section 2
I have enjoyed reading all of your thoughts about the first section of Elephant Run. I have noticed that you have done a great job raising questions about the story. I am not going to ask you any questions about the second section. Instead, I would like you to raise 1 or 2 open ended questions that the rest of the group can comment on. Remember that an open ended question gives the reader something to think about and shouldn't be an answer that can be found right in the book. Happy reading!

Welcome to the Elephant Run blog!
Hi Everyone! I am so excited to start the blog and see all of your thoughts about the book Elephant Run. This blog can be used as your tool to discuss your thoughts, feelings, impressions and questions about the book. I am going to start us off with some questions today to get us started, but feel free to add additional information to your blog. Since you don't have a google account, please be sure to sign your name at the end of each post so that everyone knows who made the comment.
After reading section 1, please share your thoughts about the questions below.
1.) The setting of this book, plays an important role in the story. why is the setting significant? Remember that setting, includes location, but also time!
2.) Magwe is becoming an important character to the book. What are your thoughts and impressions about him so far? Be sure to include specific evidence from the story to support your thinking.
3.) Think about Nick's first encounter with Hannibal. What are the effects of this event over the next several chapters?
4.) Mya is not allowed to become a mahout. Do you think there are good reasons for this tradition? Mya is excited to have Nick around on the teak plantation, but having him there backfires on her. How?
I am looking forward to reading your posts. Remember that for this activity to be successful you need to be checking the blogs frequently and commenting about other student's posts. Happy Blogging.
